Odessa and I had a field trip north to a Sonoma lavender farm today, one we'd visited once before in November. We jokingly call it the happiest place on earth, because—well, you stand there, out of the concrete and the fog, looking out on the rolling yellow hills with their vineyards and live oaks, and the sun shines on your shoulders, and the breeze rolls off the little lavender field carrying that thick, wonderful scent, and it's PEACE.
Odessa bought some wonderful dark cherries from a roadside stand.
I squeezed some of the juice onto the pages of my journal for pretty and remembrance. My cuticles too are still a bit stained from eating the cherries.
We stopped in Petaluma for a late lunch and took some pseudo-fashion blogger pictures. ;)
I'm a cool kid, yeah.

She looks like I'd imagine Dashti would, except she doesn't have a birthmark.

ReplyDeletethat's gorgeous! i've only been to a lavender field once before and it was fantastic. i could smell it from miles away! this must have been just as fantastic.
ReplyDeleteAwww I really like your hair:) I have always wanted to go to a lavendar farm.. as I love lavendar very muchly! My weekend was ok.. I have had to past week off work though so everyday has felt like a weekend but not really in a exciting way.
ReplyDeleteThe farm looks so pretty! I love lavender - we have some in our front yard and it smells sooo good, so I can imagine how heavenly it must have been there.

This brings back happy, delicious memories of a lavender farm in Washington I saw a few years ago. And I love the bangs! :) That first picture is perfect, and I love the bumblebee as well.

Edge - With the scent, there was quite a steady buzzing coming off the field too. Happiest bees in the world, I imagine.
