My dad and I drove up north to Point Reyes today.
See that thing by the sign? That is a gray whale's skull.
North.
Sitting up above the Pacific in the wind and sunshine, waiting for an instant to develop...ahh. :)
The whale skull again.
Rattlesnake grass.
so.
ReplyDeletevery.
gorgeous.
AMAZING! No other words could possibly describe it.
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures. Rattlesnake grass? Cool
ReplyDeleteThe ocean is my FAVORITE.
ReplyDelete(those rattlesnake grass photos are especially gorgeous.)
so, so beautiful. and now I wish I could see the ocean.
ReplyDeletegabi - Uganda is your home, but do you miss the sea there?
ReplyDeleteGirl in the Black Beret - There is nothing like it, mmm.
Milli - It's the one thing I remember from a nature walk at camp when I was young, hah! You can eat the part that looks like a rattlesnake's tail. Tastes kind of like unsalted unbuttered popcorn.
Erin - Yess. So good for the soul, it is.
spider- Ah. How long do you think it is until you do? Have you before?
mmm
ReplyDeletegeekspawn - I know you know about the sea, even if you don't have one most of the time.
ReplyDeleteErrr... is it 100% inappropriate to say your dad is... wow.
ReplyDeleteErin - omg, omg, LOL! I guess he is quite fit for his age :)
ReplyDeleteYes, I've seen it several times before. (Though I've seen the Atlantic, not the Pacific.) And I should get to see it again... this June? I think that's right.
ReplyDeletespider - Good. I was going to cry and send you some polaroids if you hadn't.
ReplyDeleteI was here once, long ago.
ReplyDeleteBeth - A view to make your spirit sing, isn't it? To steal a line from Dia Calhoun.
ReplyDeleteWow, that rattle snake grass is so cool. I've never seen that before!
ReplyDeleteaipingplum - Have you seen non-urban California at all?
