Nights in the sauna with our books

The agenda:

*studying
*lazing around underneath the ceiling fan
*fanatically hunting mosquitoes around the cabin
*we also became rather fond of backrub exchanges

  1. I have a random question unrelated to the post (if that's okay). Something I've been wondering, and I thought you would know the answer. In German, do they refer to God with the formal or the informal pronoun? And do you know why they use the one they use? Danke. :)

  2. Heidi - Verily, God is addressed as "du." I'm not sure if there is some sort of pan-German doctrinal underpinning to this, though, or if the T-V distinction exists in the biblical languages to justify it...because that's the pronoun used in French too...hmm!

You're a sneaky one with that camera! I definitely didn't know anyone was taking pictures of our sweaty sauna that night.

Gosh if I keep coming back here, I may as well get some account or something or other so I'm not anonymous all the time. Too bad I don't blog. Oh! But I did want to tell you that I really like what you wrote about "The Art of Eating a Tangerine". I love insightful metaphors. And I love tangerines.

  4. Amy - Haha, really? I was trying to be, but it was my big camera with the loud shutter! Cool, I guess. :) And thank you! I changed it just about two years ago, and I need to reread the book I got it from...
