Happiness and gratitudes

• my new manager at work

• overly long breaks (wading in fountains)

• garlic

• my days off

Fear & Resilience

• getting back a roll of slide film I shot in Massachusetts

• the "Girl-Caught" campaign from the girls' magazine New Moon. I am so going to get my niece a subscription.

• a conversation with my librarian in which we discover that we are both principled Non-Dieters

• quiet mornings puttering and gearing up for the day. cooking a good Tupperware lunch for work, and enjoying doing it, has been my self-care practice lately.

• good yoga routines from YouTube

• Sunday evening liturgy

Jenni Schaefer's books (eating disorder recovery)

• minimalist to-do lists (three or fewer things for the day...be real about priorities; be focused)

  1. I really should try the minimalist to-do list. My list is always like 20 things long.

  2. I love this. You're so powerful ie, full of power. You are an inspiration, love.

  3. Happy lists make me happy! Where are these good yoga routines you speak of? I am on a mission to learn new things from YouTube. Not due to a love of YouTube, but due to the general expensive-ness of Official Classes.

  4. Ah, I spend my mornings puttering too. Great, isn't it?

  5. I am the opposite of a minimalist when it comes to to-do lists. I think it's so much fun to cross things off that I write down ridiculously long lists involving things like "put toothpaste on toothbrush. brush teeth. shampoo hair. condition hair. etc" and then also make lists of things I will need to accomplish the lists of mundane things, just so I can cross them off. (Well, and partly because I sometimes actually forget to do those things.)

    Non-dieters make me very happy.

Also, this is unrelated, but I was writing a blog post earlier today and was later reminded of one you had posted in which I discovered through the comments that actually, a large amount of the blogging community have comfort items that they sleep with, but I can't seem to be able to find it...

  6. Heather - I got the idea from Leo Babauta -- see this post. I find him very insightful.

colpanna - You're so kind and lovely to me. My trip has given me a lot of momentum in making my days what I wish them to be...a project we both share and share enjoyment in, it seems

Sarah - What other sorts of new things? I'm liking her routines, though in the actual videos she goes faster than I like.

Jenica - Yes, and the fact that there is a word for it!

faith - Haha, but I do understand the pleasure of that too. :) Here it is.
