Erin - Have you looked it up for yourself now? If not, it is a block of ice shaved into very fluffy flakes, that they put in a cup and pour flavored syrup over. This kind was better cuz there was ice cream on the bottom and cream drizzled over the top with the syrups.
I just read about this in John Green's newest book and I was like WHAT IS SHAVED ICE?
