Gratitudes + things that are making me happy

Untitled

• the gift of a lovely new teapot

• getting to see my sister and her family for Christmas

• long handwriting sessions

• the clarity that a single word can bring when it's the descriptor you need

• introducing my two-year-old niece to Xena: Warrior Princess early one morning when it was just the two of us

• Malbec and good memories

• mess

• being able to pay this month's credit card bill

• being awake today to see the full moon sink into the dawn clouds

• atmospheric music videos

• growing older

  1. Which word?

  2. sui - "Shame." I'm so into the "Video Games" video...(and song).

  3. Erin - I was elated. She didn't really follow it but she would make little comments. "Hitting! Hitting!" for fight scenes and "Oh no!" for dramatic music or when someone got hurt.

  4. Finding a word! Single greatest feeling.

  5. Jenica - It makes everything easier, even if nothing else changes, to at least understand . Words are good for that. <3

  6. that is a good word.

hahaha... joy and i once talked about lana del rey (LDR = long distance relationships...? nup...) and how i refer to her music mainly as "whiny patriarchal music." hahaha! i hadn't seen the video yet, though. i like her song "blue jeans," too, but she is quite a bit whiny (and have you heard "this is what makes us girls"...? just awful...)

quan used to sing her songs all the time in the myrtle/sexyhaus apartment over the summer, though. haha (:

  8. sui - yeah, it's patriarchal but sometimes in a depressed self-aware way and sometimes in a really groovy-sounding way? haha, i like him for that...

Cheray - it's a good 'un, and i feel like it goes both ways -- i write more gratitude lists when i'm already feeling well, you know? x
