Things that are making me happy:
lining the inside of my journal's covers with tridecalogisms and pretending their powers will protect it
the Memoirs of a Geisha film score. I'm not that crazy about the movie, but the soundtrack is by John Williams and features Yo-Yo Ma and Itzhak Perlman, so of course it's gorgeous.
wearing a crown around my neighborhood on errands that would otherwise be boring
Yee Sum's continued posts from our college's summer program in England - Anglophiles, see here, here, here, and here for some of the amazing photos she's taken so far.
phone calls and letters from faraway friends
sending messages to strangers by tucking notes into library books
cupcake inspirations that keep me awake
What about you?
Everything is making me happy. I've been having a good day for a long time.
ReplyDeleteI love this idea of the Errand Crown. I'll have to adopt that one!
:)
You rock. Just so you know.
ReplyDeleteThis post made me happy. :) Especially the tridecalogisms and the crown.
ReplyDeleteCool, I've been almost all the places in the pictures. They're awesome!
ReplyDelete:) Leanna, I was thinking of your trip when I posted those links.
ReplyDelete"sending messages to strangers by tucking notes into library books"
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like fun...
Oh, it is. I only wish I could receive one!
ReplyDeleteThose pictures are astounding! I'm loving the colors, and I think I'm a little jealous of your friend's camera quality...
ReplyDeleteThe errand crown sounds like a great idea! As do the library book notes. I should start doing that... do you think they actually make it to the next recipient, or do the librarians get to them first?
Yeah, I think sometimes her photos are sharper than I can actually see the world with my naked eye. :P Not sure, though, she might retouch them too.
ReplyDeleteIf you make the notes small and slip them all the way into the book or under a jacket flap, then yeah, I'm sure they make it. I've gotten books with way more obvious things stuck in them that nobody saw fit to remove.
errand crown--i like that. A tiara?
ReplyDeletenotes in library books? i once found $20! There's a website that records "found" things, and includes things "found" in library books. Let's see if this librarian can find it for you...

Love love love the pictures. Esp the stairs with the mirrors.
wow. those pictures (of England) are amazing. Your friend has a gift. I'll have to come back to enjoy those again.
ReplyDeleteHi Sarah Louise!
ReplyDeleteShe does. :) Yes, it's a tiara. And that is a cool website. I found a photo yesterday on the sidewalk that looked like it had a story, perhaps I'll send it in.
Nice luck with the twenty! Reminds me of stories you hear of people finding hundred dollar bills in Vegas. Maybe I should start sticking bills into my favorite books to make happy the awesome people who read them too?
oh, wearing an errand crown sounds like fun! which neighborhood do you live? im in the castro/noe valley area so running around with a crown in my head will fit in here just fine. ;)
ReplyDeleteAh, I like the thing about tridecalogisms :)
ReplyDeleteThe tucking notes into library books is fun as well.
I don't get what the pictures like that mean. I've seen a lot of bookish blogs and they all have the sets of like six pictures. So what does that mean?
ReplyDeleteAlso, I'm a new blogger. Could you possibly add me to your friends of the blog list so I can get more people on my blog, please?
