There--do you see?
How, arching her back,
she stretches a limb(song long without words)
into each dimension?
These people
with their flying gestures,
their lithe, shifting legs...
Such people!
For all that they look to be composed
solely
and so gorgeously
of breath and fingertips,
how much more space
each occupies in this universe
than I.
[Scribbling from the first intermission of the San Francisco Ballet's performance this afternoon.]

ReplyDeleteThank you so much taking the time to leave such encouraging comments. :) I am so grateful to have you reading what I write...
Odessa - Thank you! I am really glad that the "breath and fingertips" line strikes you as right. I went through rather a lot of nouns trying to get that phrase satisfactory.
Cassandra - Thank you. :) My mom and I have a very excellent tradition of going to the ballet once a year. You shall have to attend a performance when you come up to SF!
oh wow. go ahead, make me cry.
